A wonderful early-20th-century Christian Sunday School/Bible study book from The Bible Study Union (Blakeslee) Lessons, prepared by Prof. Charles F. Kent, Ph.D. and Rev. Harold B. Hunting and published by The Bible Study Publishing Co., 129 Park Row, New York.
This children’s Bible-study volume takes young readers through the Old Testament stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Ruth, Samuel, David, Solomon and other biblical figures.
Particularly appealing are the beautiful period color Bible illustrations and detailed color map of “The Land of the Hebrews.” The book also contains Bible drills, review questions and questions for home study, offering a fascinating look at how children studied Scripture and attended Sunday School more than a century ago.
An original young owner wrote her name in the book and completed some of the lesson questions in pencil. These handwritten answers have been left untouched and add wonderful historical character to the piece.
