CONDITION
Antique pre-owned condition with substantial age-related wear and patina. Metal tackle box shows surface rust/oxidation, scratches, finish wear, staining and other signs of use and age. Original Outing label is only partially present. Center keyed lock functions and working key is included. Interior trays open and operate.
Fishing tackle and accessories vary in condition and show age, oxidation, staining, wear and use. Paper/cardboard packaging has age-related staining, discoloration and wear. Items have not been polished or restored.

DESCRIPTION
Antique Outing Manufacturing Co. \"Handy Box\" cantilever fishing tackle box from Elkhart, Indiana, offered with its collection of vintage fishing tackle and accessories.
The metal box measures approximately20\" long × 7\" wide × 6\" talland features multiple cantilevered divided trays, two outer latches and akeyed center lock. The key is included and the lock works.
A portion of the original triangular Outing Mfg. Co. label remains visible on the front.
Based on the Outing identification, construction and known examples, this box is believed to date from approximately the1920s-1930s.
The tackle box is being sold with the vintage contents found inside, including several identifiable collectible pieces:
•Pflueger Record Spoon No. 1832 Size 5– Made in USA with Pflueger trademark and patent markings
•South Bend Sun Spot Spoon– marked South Bend / Sun Spot
•Two original South Bend Sun Spot Spoon boxes– No. 531 GW and No. 532 CP (lures are not in the boxes)
•South Bend Oreno Fly Rod Line Dressing tin– South Bend Bait Co., South Bend, Indiana
•Wright & McGill Genuine Eagle Claw promotional hook– 19K gold plated, on original advertising card, Denver, Colorado, presented by George Collins, rough condition with corrosion, but still attached to the card.
• Vintage unmarked spoon/lure with red translucent insert
• Assorted vintage fishing line, hooks, sinkers, swivels and additional tackle/accessories as pictured
IMPORTANT:The South Bend Sun Spot boxes and loose lures were found together in this tackle box, but I have not confirmed that the individual lures originally belonged to either specific box. They are therefore being sold as separate pieces within the overall lot and arenot represented as original matching boxed lure sets.
This collection has been left largely as found. The tackle box and contents havenot been polished or restored, preserving the accumulated patina and character.
A very interesting early American fishing collection featuring Outing, South Bend, Pflueger and Wright & McGill / Eagle Claw pieces.
