This substantial American art pottery vessel features a rich matte cobalt blue ground decorated with raised cream/ivory relief in a Jasperware-inspired style. The scene depicts an equestrian rider on horseback surrounded by hounds, foliage and a stylized tree, creating the classic fox-hunt imagery associated with Weller\'s Chase pattern.
The underside bears the hand-incised/script Weller Pottery signature.
