Antique 19th C Skater’s Hand Lantern Clear Glass Globe Tin Kerosene Oil Lamp.
This compact lantern measures approximately 6½–7 inches tall. It has an appealing untouched aged surface with dark patina, oxidation, scratches, and wear consistent with age and use. The clear glass globe shows surface wear and soiling but appears intact in the photographs.
The lower section opens to reveal the burner and wick assembly. No maker’s name, patent information, or other lettering was found.
A nice early lighting piece for a collection of primitive lighting, kerosene lamps, hand lanterns, or 19th-century household antiques.
Condition:
Antique used condition with age-related patina, oxidation, finish loss, scratches, grime, and general wear. Glass shows normal surface wear and soiling. Burner assembly is present. Lamp has not been tested with fuel. Please review all photographs carefully as they are part of the condition description.
