Elegant 19th century French porcelain jewelry or trinket box, decorated with a rich celeste blue ground, extensive gilt ornamentation, and finely hand-painted polychrome floral bouquets.
The shaped porcelain body and domed hinged cover are mounted with gilt bronze fittings and borders. The cover is centered with a large hand-painted floral arrangement surrounded by elaborate gilt decoration, while additional floral reserves embellish the sides. The interior is also decorated with delicate hand-painted flowers to both the base and underside of the lid.
The underside bears a blue Sèvres-style mark.
