Condition Report: HEAVY WEAR / AS-IS FOR RESTORATION OR PROP USE
This antique 19th-century Family Bible is in poor/distressed historical condition and is being sold strictly AS-IS for parts, restoration, or decorative/prop use. Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description.
• Spine & Binding: The original spine is completely perished/detached. The front and back leather boards are entirely separated from the text block and are currently held together by old, brittle brown tape strips wrapped across the spine area. The binding is completely broken.
• Covers & Edges: Heavy scuffing, deep rubbing, and substantial leather loss on both front and back covers, especially along the edges and heavily bumped corners. Significant dust accumulation and surface staining throughout.
• Interior Pages & Text Block: The page block is loose. Several pages at the back/concordance section are severely damaged, torn, frayed, and detached from the binding, with chunks of paper missing due to historical brittle wear.
• Illustrations: Includes dramatic full-page Victorian woodcut/engraved illustrations (such as "Samson and Delilah" and "Building the Walls of Jerusalem"). The illustrated pages shown remain intact with light age-toning and minor finger-soiling at the margins, but otherwise display clean, sharp artwork.
• Page Edges: The page edges are heavily toned/browned and show significant wear from handling, with no remaining gold gilt luster.
