Impressive late 19th century Renaissance Revival cabinet dating approximately 1875–1895. Great size at 58 1/4 tall 36 3/4 wide and 22 3/4 deep
A highly decorative architectural form featuring a dark oak case with extensive carved and applied ornament. The cabinet is particularly striking for its numerous relief bronze or brass panels, including large figural and foliate panels on the lower doors, decorative bronze drawer panels, and a long classical figural scene incorporated into the upper gallery.carved male figural masks flanking the cabinet doors, heavy scroll and bracket carving, turned urn-form supports, fluted architectural elements, applied bosses, molded panel sides, carved crest, and substantial molded base resting on turned feet.
The lower section has two drawers over a pair of cabinet doors, providing useful interior storage. The raised gallery gives the piece a strong Renaissance architectural appearance and makes it an excellent statement piece.
Condition:Antique condition with expected wear, scratches, finish variation, small losses and other signs of age and use. The original dark finish and aged surfaces give the cabinet considerable character.This is the surface you want to find when buying antique furniture , original surface only happens once !
