For sale is an exceptional piece of early American folk art: an antique sheet-copper bannerette arrow weathervane fragment, salvaged directly from a historic property in New England.Dating from the mid-to-late 19th century (circa 1860–1890), this diminutive-scale architectural element features a classic clean arrow pointer paired with a hand-sheared flat trailing banner tail.The standout feature of this piece is its magnificent, completely untouched natural verdigris patina. Decades of exposure to the elements have built up a thick, crusty, multi-layered light green and chalky white oxidation that cannot be faked. This surface has not been cleaned, polished, or sealed, preserving its raw, authentic historic integrity for the discerning collector.Its compact, diminutive size makes it an ideal, highly displayable historic accent piece—perfectly suited for a mantle, library shelf, or console table.Dimensions:

This is an authentic, centuries-old architectural piece. The copper sheet shows wonderful, rustic weathering, including jagged edge losses on the far end of the trailing banner and minor bends that tell the story of its life on a roofline. The original vertical copper post remains attached via its historic iron cross-pin collar at the top. The bottom of the post is roughly cut/broken from when it was historic copper-salvaged. It is structurally stable, rigid, and ready to be inserted into a simple wood block or iron base for museum-style tabletop display.Shipping & Handling:
