Article number: 3284
We are honored to offer a high-grade heirloom of profound historical and esoteric significance: an antique 19th-century Lombok Rudus Pedang. Masterfully forged during the 19th century (Lombok abad XIX), this extraordinary piece merges exquisite metallurgy with deep spiritual power, serving as both a formidable physical blade and an active spiritual shield (pusaka).
While the Rudus (a single-edged slashing sword/cutlass) is most famously associated with the Islamic Malay cultures of Sumatra (such as Aceh and Bengkulu) and South Kalimantan, its presence in Lombok is a direct result of historical maritime trade, Islamic political networks, and military movements across the Indonesian archipelago.
Master Craftsmanship & Inscriptions.
The Wilah (Blade): Measuring a commanding 43.5 cm, the steel surface is fully inlaid with silver Aksara script and Arabic/Pegon (Pegan) texts. This unique dual-script inlay represents the rare harmonious blending of Hindu-Buddhist/Animist and Islamic traditions indigenous to Lombok and Bali.
Sacred Inscriptions: The blade features hand-inlaid rajah (talismanic formulas), sacred mantras, and esoteric Islamic prayers (Asma). Rather than mere decoration, these silver-forged characters act as permanent conduits for divine protection and blessing.
Hilt & Scabbard: Crowned with a classic Bondolan hilt carved from dense black Kabau (water buffalo) horn, resting on a copper selut. The blade is housed in its original dark hardwood scabbard, securely bound with six decorative copper bands.
Esoteric Properties & Spiritual Powers
1. Dapur & Blade Form Energies
The single-edged Rudus form embodies decisive action, clarity, and authority. Spiritually, the form cuts through negative energetic blockages, mental fog, and obstacles standing in the way of success. In daily life, it empowers its owner with strong leadership qualities, heightened focus, and the unwavering confidence needed to make difficult decisions.
2. Pamor & Silver Rajah Energies
