Up for sale is an authentic antique turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau brass cicada lapel pin / brooch.Era: Circa 1890–1910 (Victorian / Art Nouveau period).Hardware Details (Dating Identifiers): The reverse features a classic antique tube-joint hinge and an open extended C-clasp with a thick needle that extends past the bug\'s head—designed specifically to pierce thick Victorian wool capes, cloaks, and lapels. The interior belly shows a beautiful, crude texture consistent with historic sand-cast brass manufacturing. No modern rolling safety catch.Condition: Excellent antique condition with a rich, dark natural golden-brown patina. The front features crisp, deep hand-etched wing and eye detail work. The pin stem is straight and sits securely inside the C-clasp. Unsigned/unmarked, as was common for brass novelty fashion items of this era.Dimensions: Classic lapel statement size. (6 cm long)
