Fantastic early automobile-era fitted picnic or touring set housed in its original black hard-sided carrying case.
The set retains an assortment of period flatware, enamelware and serving/storage pieces. At least some of the knives are clearly stamped:
PUTNAM CUTLERY CO.
NEW BRITAIN CONN. U.S.A.
The fitted interior features striped compartments and original leather retaining straps for the utensils. The case also contains white enamelware with blue trim, including cups and plates, small condiment/shaker containers, and a large removable metal storage/food container with lid.
The exterior retains its original-style hardware, latches and leather carrying handle. The handle is heavily aged and deteriorated, so the case shouldnot be carried by the handle.
This is an especially interesting display piece for a collection of early automobilia, camping equipment, picnic ware, travel accessories or antique kitchenware.
Included:Everything shown in the photographs is included. Because this is an antique set and some original pieces may be missing or replaced over its lifetime, no claim is made that the set is complete or that every component was originally supplied together.
Condition:Displays considerable age-related wear throughout, including tarnish, oxidation, scratches, scuffs, staining/soiling and deterioration to leather components. It has been left largely in its found condition rather than aggressively polished or restored.
Please examine all photographs closely. Photos are considered part of the description.
