This gorgeous piece is constructed from a luminous, sapphire/royal blue silk satin and heavily detailed with exceptional Suzhou-style hand embroidery.DESIGN & ICONOGRAPHY
The robe features six meticulously detailed, large circular medallions (three on the front, three on the back) depicting traditional court ladies relaxing in an elegant garden landscape. The surrounding blue silk is accented with scattered flowers and ribboned cultural motifs representing long life and good fortune. The silhouette features a classical mandarin collar, traditional central frog closures, side slits, and highly coveted contrasting cream silk sleeve bands (cuffs) finished with supplementary colorful floral needlework.CONDITION
