The color of this statue is light green, an unusual color for SOAPSTONE but popular for Jade. The black marble base is usually marble, Alexander but not black soapstone w white marbling in it underneath unusual
I felt this possibility JADE but I tried 3 times near base to do a soapstone test. First 2 times didn’t scratch so I thought “yep, Jade” So I tried un wanting a 3rd scratch a bit deeper and a residue lifted I did NOT want to try again
These soapstone exact figurines sell up to $900 the Jade 1000+$ so I decided to go with a very fair price for either Jade OR SOAPSTONE
