Beautiful antique Czech / Bohemian art glass vase, dating to approximately the Art Deco period, circa 1930, with a striking combination of vivid coral-red glass, deep cobalt/near-black and white spatter decoration, and a dramatic applied dark glass snake winding around the body.
The vase has a flared trumpet-form mouth with a rich coral-red upper body that transitions into a deep cobalt/near-black lower section filled with irregular white spatter. A thick applied dark glass trail winds repeatedly around the center, creating the distinctive snake-like decoration that makes this piece especially unusual.
The underside is clearly marked “CZECHOSLOVAKIA.”
Closely related examples featuring this combination of spatter glass and applied snake winding have historically been attributed to Wilhelm Kralik Sohn (Kralik). More recent research has questioned some older Kralik attributions and associated related Czech production with Ernst Steinwald. For that reason, no definitive factory attribution is being made here. The Czechoslovakia mark confirms the vase’s Czech origin.
