This item is in very good antique condition for being over 120 years old.The horn body is stable and solid with a beautiful aged surface patina. No major splits or delamination.Includes minor authentic wear, micro-scratching, and a small, natural insect bore hole consistent with age.The wooden plug shows beautiful natural end-grain checking (drying cracks) but remains structurally secure. The iron tacks and carrying chain show a heavy, authentic dark rust oxidation layer that adds immense character.
