This antique bamboo plant stand was sourced in France and dates to the late Victorian Aesthetic Movement era, circa 1890–1915. Crafted in a six-sided hexagonal form, it features authentic pegged all-bamboo joinery, scorched tortoise finish accents, and vertical bamboo spindles framing each side panel. The slatted bamboo top is set flush within a mitered perimeter frame secured by wooden pegs. It functions as a tabletop plant stand, bonsai pedestal, decorative tabletop riser, or small accent stool.
CONDITION
Good antique condition. The stand remains structurally sound and stable with all original pegged joinery intact. Age-appropriate wear is present throughout, including drying splits and vertical cracks along the base canes and feet, alongside minor scuffs, darkening, and surface patina on the bamboo consistent with over a century of age.
