Antique French Boudoir Salon Doll 25” Art Deco 1920s Painted Face Satin Gown For Sale

Wonderful antique French boudoir / salon doll, dating to approximately the 1920s–1930s Art Deco period.She measures approximately 25 inches tall and has a wonderfully dramatic hand-painted face with blue eyes, exceptionally long painted lashes, arched brows, beauty marks and red Cupid’s-bow lips. She retains her auburn hair, elegant molded hands with painted red fingernails, and molded lower legs with black high-heeled shoes.Her construction is characteristic of French boudoir dolls of the period, with a cloth/stuffed body and molded/composition elements. She wears a beautiful old ivory satin gown trimmed with lace, which appears period and may be original to the doll.She has a particularly striking, sophisticated face and displays beautifully despite her age-related condition.Condition: Antique condition with considerable age-related wear. There is crazing/cracking and surface wear to the face, neck and chest. One eye has significant damage/loss. Hair is sparse and disheveled. The satin and lace gown shows age discoloration, wear, fraying and deterioration, particularly at the back.
