A gorgeous, authentic antique French copper confectionary/sugar pot featuring a highly collectible wrought iron \"cradle-style\" split handle. This heavy-duty handle design wraps around the sides of the pot with solid rivets, structurally engineered to handle the heavy weight of boiling sugar, candy, or preserves.
Based on the construction, this is a beautiful early-to-mid 20th-century piece hand-crafted by a regional coppersmith in France. It features a wonderful, rich aged patina and a spun solid base.
Condition Details:
• Overall: Gorgeous • vintage condition with fantastic rustic character and a hand-hammered look.
• The Rim: There is a minor split in the wrapped copper over the rolled wire rim (visible opposite the handle). The main copper body wall beneath the rim • remains completely solid and intact.
• Interior: Features an old, oxidized tin lining. Due to the age of the lining and the split at the rim, this piece is being sold strictly as a decorative item—perfect for a French country kitchen display, hanging pot rack, or rustic hearth decor.
