Cast from solid bronze or brass, the front features a superb relief depiction of the face of the Greek sun god Apollo surrounded by stylized sunburst rays, an iconic regal symbol popularized during the Baroque period. The piece displays a spectacular, genuine aged dark patina with gorgeous hints of original gold/gilt tone highlighting the deep crevices. The reverse features an integrated, heavy sand-cast mounting boss with deep internal screw threading.
