Antique French Sèvres-Style Porcelain & Gilt Bronze Centerpiece BowlUp for sale is a beautiful late 19th to early 20th-century French Sèvres-style porcelain centerpiece bowl.This piece features an ornate gilt bronze (ormolu) mounted stand with scrolling handles and stands 7 inches tall with a 9.5-inch diameter bowl.The interior of the bowl features a hand-painted romantic courting scene in the style of Fragonard, accented by elegant gold scrolling gilt work along the cream-colored rim.The ornate bronze base includes a second hand-painted porcelain medallion featuring a small floral bouquet.
The underside of both the main bowl and the base insert are marked in underglaze blue with the traditional interlaced \"Ls\" mark and the letter \"D,\" along with the text \"HAND PAINTED FRANCE.\" The raw porcelain paste also features authentic incised factory assembly marks reading \"8 / AF / L\".
