Antique silver gelatin photograph by George F. Slade (1874–1955), \"Photographic Artist\" of the Slade Art Studio, Broadway, Chelsea, Massachusetts. Titled \"Mirror Brook, White Mts. N.H.\" and numbered \"Copyright Art Study No. 61\" on the original mount backing, with full printed studio imprint. Slade was a documented New England landscape photographer active in the early 20th century; two of his works are held by the Library of Congress and one by the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
This is an untinted black-and-white silver print — not hand-colored — mounted on its original cream card, approximately 8 x 6 inches overall with the image cut to an octagonal (clipped-corner) window, consistent with Slade\'s known \"Art Study\" format. The photograph shows a wooded brook scene with strong reflections and dappled light, in good antique condition with expected age toning. The back mount shows four spots of old tape residue from a prior framing or mounting (see photos) and a small pencil inventory mark; these do not affect the image itself. A genuine, fully attributed piece from a documented early-1900s New England studio photographer — good for collectors of American regional landscape photography or White Mountains ephemera.
