This is a rare and stunning antique German Dresden porcelain figurine group by Volkstedt often titled "Grandmother's Birthday" or a happy family gathering with hand applied fragile lace. It depicts a Rococo-era family gathering where children present floral garlands and bouquets to a seated grandmother figure. This incredible piece features intricate molded porcelain with ornate scrollwork, a crest detail on the base, and delicate lace-trimmed clothing typical of 18th-century European porcelain. It is measuring about 22” in length, 11.5” in depth and 16” in height. Blue mark on the back. Considering its age and fragility, this piece is preserved in very good condition.
