This piece dates back to the late 19th or very early 20th century (circa 1880–1912).Features an exceptionally crisp, clear, deeply struck four-line tang stamp reading: "H&B MFG CO / NEW BRITAIN / CONN". The blade face is also stamped "H&B".Handle: Built with dark, smooth wood handle scales (likely ebony or cocobolo) with a solid metal bolster and end cap.Condition: Vintage, used condition. The original carbon steel blade shows honest wear, historical sharpening, and a deep natural patina consistent with age. The handle scales are tightly pinned.
