Beautiful antique Hand Painted Nippon covered sugar bowl, dating to the early 1900s and featuring an unusual attached underplate/pedestal-style base.Marked on the bottom with the Morimura Brothers “M in Wreath” Hand Painted Nippon backstamp.Decorated with delicate hand-painted peach/pink flowers and soft green leaves, extensive gold gilt and raised gold/beaded detailing. The bowl features two angular handles and a coordinating domed lid with an open handle.Please note that what appears to be an underplate in the photos is permanently attached to the sugar bowl and is part of the original form — it is not a separate saucer.Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear to the gold decoration, particularly around the lid, rims and handles.
