For your consideration is this beautiful vintage Indonesian Keris (or Kris) dagger, featuring a highly detailed, hand-carved genuine bone hilt and an ornately decorated wooden scabbard.
The bovine or ox bone handle is meticulously carved into a traditional figural motif (likely representing a Garuda or local deity) and has developed a wonderful, warm natural patina. The blade is forged in the traditional 3-Luk (wavy) style, symbolizing power and balance. The wooden sheath features extensive relief carving on the front. It is plain in back.
It is in good vintage condition. The hilt features crisp, detailed carvings with natural aging. The wooden sheath has intricate hand-carved details showing minor surface wear consistent with age. Blade has a dark vintage patina. Please see photos for exact condition.
