An impressive antique Japanese Satsuma tea set consisting of six teacups and six matching saucers—a total of 12 pieces.

Each piece is intricately hand painted with detailed Japanese warrior or courtly figures set against a mountainous landscape with water, architecture, trees, and Mount Fuji-style peaks. Raised moriage enamel outlines, richly colored decoration, and extensive gold gilding create a highly dimensional and ornate appearance.

The black-ground handles and lower borders feature additional gilt patterns, while the interiors display the fine crackled glaze traditionally associated with Satsuma-style earthenware. Red Japanese signatures appear on the undersides.

This ornate set would complement:

• Japanese or Asian-inspired interiors
• Victorian and traditional decor
• Chinoiserie and maximalist displays
• Antique china cabinets or curio collections
• Meiji-period and Satsuma pottery collections

The pieces may be displayed as six complete duos or arranged individually to showcase their detailed figural scenes.

Due to the extensive crazing, age, and previous repairs, this set is recommended primarily for decorative or collectible use. It has not been tested for modern food-safety standards and may not be food safe.

Variations in the hand-painted decoration are natural and contribute to the individual character of each piece. Colors may vary slightly due to lighting and screen settings.
