Antique Japanese Satsuma Plate – Shozan Signed – Meiji Era (Late 1800s)
This beautiful Satsuma plate dates to the late Meiji period (circa 1890–1900) and features a finely detailed hand-painted temple landscape with autumn maple leaves. It is richly decorated in polychrome enamels with gold gilded highlights on a classic ivory crackle glaze, a hallmark of authentic Satsuma ware.
The reverse bears the Shozan signature in gold, indicating a Kyoto-area Satsuma artist. These pieces were created for the export market during the 19th century and remain highly collectible today.
