Antique Late 19th Century Stiletto / Piercing Awl-Type Tool with Original Fitted Case
Unusual antique pointed tool measuring approximately 5.5” long and weighing approximately 3.4 grams.
Features a slender black/dark handle with a faceted/spiral design and a fine pointed metal shaft. The tool is non-retractable and comes with its original fitted protective case.
The case features a black exterior, reddish/orange interior, and brass-colored fittings. There is a handwritten marking on the edge of the case that appears to read “18?7”. The third digit is unclear, so the date has not been represented as a confirmed year.
Dating: Appears consistent with the late 19th century, approximately 1870–1900.
Maker: Unknown. No identifiable maker’s mark found.
