Standing at an impressive 18 inches tall, this substantial statement piece features an incredibly dense, hand-painted scene depicting traditional Japanese courtiers and figures gathered in a landscape setting.The vase is beautifully framed by intricate, heavily packed geometric borders and brocade patterns (Nishikide style) featuring extensive raised enamel work (moriage) and rich gold gilt detailing.
