Antique Meisselbach Good Luck Horseshoe & Fish 6\" Wood Brass Sidewinder Reel For Sale

Antique A.F. Meisselbach & Bro. \"Good Luck\" sidewinder fishing reel, 6\" wood body with brass mounting bracket, produced roughly 1890s–1919 for ocean/deep-sea fishing. The signature horseshoe-and-fish trademark is stamped into the brass bracket and still legible (see photos). Both original hard rubber/wood knobs are present and intact. Brass bracket and screws are solid with good age patina.Condition — please read: The wood body has a hairline crack that was professionally or previously glued and closed — it runs most of the way across the disc (visible in photos). It appears stable and tight, with no gap or glue residue visible, but buyers should know this is a repair, not an uncracked original. There are also a few small edge nicks. Selling as a collectible/display piece; I have not tested it for functional line retrieval given the repair, and I\'d recommend treating it as decorative rather than working tackle unless you inspect and reinforce the crack yourself.A solid piece for a Meisselbach or antique tackle collection, honestly represented flaws and all. Feel free to ask questions or request more photos before offerding/buying.
