A fine antique porcelain serving dish by Minton & Boyle of Stoke-on-Trent, England, dating to the firm's short-lived 1836–1841 partnership era between Herbert Minton and John Boyle (the mark used before the company continued on as Minton & Co.). Square in form with a gently scalloped, wavy rim, gilt edge, and two curled ribbon-scroll handles. A soft green key-and-lattice border frames a hand-painted central bouquet — purple orchid-type blossoms, pink peony, orange zinnia, and forget-me-not blue — with smaller floral sprigs scattered around the well, all in the polychrome palette typical of the period's dessert and tea services.
The reverse bears the maker's mark: a green printed scrollwork cartouche with florets and "M&B" in script, with pattern number "N° 3173" hand-numbered in orange enamel, consistent with feldspar porcelain and bone china production of this exact five-year window.
Measures approximately 10" x 9". A genuinely early piece of English porcelain, well suited to a collector of Minton history or as a striking serving/display piece.
Condition:Very good antique condition. No chips, cracks, etc. Gilt trim show slight wear.
