Elting,a 19th-century American painterwho flourished around 1890 to 1899 painting everyday life or rural subjects on wood panels or canvas.This painting depicts a boy playing with a toy boat in a pond or stream (young boys commonly wore dresses and gown-like clothes until they were about six or seven years old during the late 19th century).This painting is on a wood panel and is signed and dated 1899. The wood panel measure approx. 8-1/2'' by 13'' high and with frame it measures 12'' by 16-1/2'' high.Painting is in good condition with minor age marks near sky that does not detract (see last photo).
