DESCRIPTION
Finely handwoven coiled utility basket of rounded bowl form. Tightly coiled natural grass or deergrass over a bundled foundation with carefully wrapped stitching. Decorated throughout with alternating geometric motifs in natural tan and dark olive-green fibers, including stepped triangular designs, with a concentric star or pinwheel pattern radiating from the center of the base.
CONDITION
Overall excellent antique condition. Structurally sound and remarkably well preserved with strong form retention. Stiff and sturdy. No evident repairs or strand loss. Rich, warm age patina, and minor wear, consistent with age and use (all visible in the images).
