Beautiful antique Japanese chocolate pot with lid, hand painted during the Nippon era (c. 1911-1921) by Morimura Brothers, the company that became Noritake. Tall elegant form decorated with raised gold floral scrollwork on a creamy white porcelain ground; matching lid with gold finial. Blue backstamp reads "Hand Painted" over the Morimura "M in wreath" mark with "NIPPON" below. Measures approx. 9.75 inches tall with lid. Excellent antique condition: no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs; light age-appropriate wear to the gilt. A lovely display piece or addition to any Nippon collection.
