Antique Original Clear Glass Ambrotype Portrait Photograph of Couple circa 1860:

“Martin W” is written in pencil on the paper back of this clear glass ambrotype. The image is held together with its original circa 1860 tape. The lid to this 6th plate case is long lost but the image is still captivating with the seriousness of the husband and the composure of his wife. The noticeable scratches are original and apparently are contemporaneous with the sealing of the ambrotype.
