Description: This poetic spring painting was created by Hōkō Yokoyama (横山芳香), a celebrated Japanese female painter active during the Meiji and Taisho eras. During a period when female artists were exceptionally rare in the Japanese art world, she gained distinction for her sensitive aesthetic sensibility and lyrical depictions of nature. Titled \"Sakura Oshidori-zu (桜 鴛鴦図)\" (Cherry Blossoms and Mandarin Ducks), this composition depicts a majestic, blooming cherry blossom bough arching gracefully over tranquil waters where a devoted pair of mandarin ducks swim together in peaceful harmony. In Japanese culture and Feng Shui, the cherry blossom (Sakura 桜) is celebrated as the cherished emblem of renewal and springtime vitality, while a pair of mandarin ducks (Oshidori 鴛鴦) represents marital bliss, everlasting love, and enduring devotion. Painted with delicate line work and vibrant pigments on fine silk, this wide-format hanging scroll creates an aura of timeless romance and traditional Japanese elegance. Accompanied by its authentic wooden box bearing the artist\'s own hand-brushed inscription, it serves as an exceptional centerpiece for a tea ceremony alcove, wedding anniversary gift, or modern interior wall. The lower left bears the artist\'s signature \"芳香女史 (Hōkō Joshi)\" alongside two authentic red seal stamps.

Size: Approx. 25.0\" x 75.6\" (63.5 x 192.0 cm) (Overall), Approx. 19.1\" x 49.2\" (48.5 x 125.0 cm) (Work) (Width x Height).
