The composition appears to represent late autumn or early spring, with bare trees and a muted gray sky. The small illuminated window creates an attractive contrast with the subdued landscape.
The painting is signed “Ю. Клевер” (“Yu. Klever”) in the lower right corner.
The signature resembles the name of the well-known Russian landscape painter Julius von Klever (Yuli Yulievich Klever, 1850–1924). However, the authorship has not been professionally authenticated, and this work is therefore offered as an unidentified antique artist / Russian School painting bearing the signature “Yu. Klever.”
There is also a small red flower-like detail near the lower right area of the composition. It may be part of the original painting or a later addition.
