Antique PAIR 2 Vases BRISTOL GLASS Hand Blown/Painted VICTORIAN Leaf Bouquets
Size Approx.7.75\" high with a 3.25\" diameter base.Tops 1.5\"across. These measurements vary by centimeters on each vase as they are early hand blown glass and not \'ruler perfect\'
Matched set of TWO genuine Victorian late 1800s [most likely 1860s or 1870s] vases. These type of vases were known as SISTER VASES in England at the time, due to their matched appearance.
Features hand blown Bristol glass with a magnificent design of a large brown leaf backed with white, blue, and yellow flowers, all completely hand painted.
An unusual feature of these vases are the lovely rounded rings in the glass at the bottom and at the neck. Charming.
Opaque white glass with depressed pontil marks on bottom.
Very good condition, no flaws whatsoever other than some significant paint loss on the smaller flower petals which is expected for age. One vase has a slight rub mark on the back which may be able to be cleaned off [glass is not scratched or damaged] but I want to leave this option for buyer- see last pic- minor. No nicks chips cracks fleabites or repair to either vase.
As these are individually made, they vary slightly. You can see from the necks of the bottles and the slightly less than even/straight openings that these are VERY EARLY glass
Would look great on a mantle, shelf, table etc. Perfect for some cottage charm or English Country style.
