Antique PORCELAIN Multi Bud Spill/Match Vase HERCULES W CLUB Circa 1850s Europe
Extremely rare- genuine early Victorian era, most likely French
Genuine vintage handmade, hand painted design and form of the God HERCULES holding a club over his shoulder and standing on a boulder. Crafted as tree trunks are SIX round openings, which all feed down into the main vase body beneath
Size Approx. 4 5/8"high with a [rounded edges] squared base of approx. 3.5" x 3 1/8". The round openings for each holder are approx. 7/8" diameter. This piece is approx. 4.25" wide at widest.
Gorgeous detail in the Staffordshire style. His face and expression are charming.
Heavy, substantially made
Excellent antique condition, paint is very stable and is not flaking or peeling, but has a few very minor rubs to the cobalt blue paint, mainly near the base. Normal for age and light use. No other flaws whatsoever- no nicks chips cracks crazing or repair.
Would look lovely on display and is perfectly usable as a vase or as a match holder.
