Antique Pair of c. 1860 French Sevres style Handpainted Vases ~ Staple Repairs For Sale

Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Antique Art Pottery/Porcelain. Beautiful antique pair of French Sevres style vases with lids. Circa 1860. Blue Celeste ground with gold gilding. French Neoclassical form. Handpainted scenes front and back. Ormolu mounts. Probably Sevres but unable to remove base to see if marked. Selling AS-IS. Both were broken over 100 years ago and painstakingly put back together with staple repairs and glue. I love these old staple repair pieces that show how important these were to their owners. These still display beautifully. Both vases and lids were repaired. The handpainted scenes have great detail. These are not large they are just under 10\" each. Price reflects condition. There is an almost identical pair in Europe (same but different inner scenes) that are lacking the lids but are in excellent condition that are currently for sale at $2600+. Antique. Over 150 years old. Price is for the pair. Selling As-Is. Both have been broken and have staple repairs and glue repairs. Gold ormolu on mounds worn to very worn on metal. Visible cracks and minor losses. Sounds quite bad but these actually display beautifully just as they are. Each measures just under 10\" tall at 9 3/4\". Price is for the pair.
