Antique heavy-duty padlock with attached chain, likely made for railroad or industrial use.
Very substantial early-style construction with:
* Heavy riveted metal body
* Thick hinged shackle
* Swinging keyhole dust cover
* Original attached chain
* Wonderful dark aged patina and surface wear
There is lettering/marking visible along the upper shackle, but it is worn and I have not been able to positively identify the maker or railroad from it.
No key included. Lock has not been tested for operation and is being sold as an antique collectible/display piece.
Shows considerable authentic age including oxidation, scratches, discoloration, wear and surface patina. I have left it exactly as found rather than cleaning or polishing it.
Excellent primitive railroadiana / industrial hardware display piece.
