This is a fine example of a traditional Yemeni Hirz (Herz) which is a silver amulet tube often used to carry important documents or sacred verses. Featuring very intricately designed textured surface with with dangles.It is approximately 10\" long and 1.6\" diameter. This piece is likely dated to the late 19th century and made from coin silver that was traditionally used by Arabian tribal craftsmen. There is a small, engraved piece attached that is signed in Arabic. This piece comes from the estate of a retired diplomat in the Middle East.
