Antique Victorian 24k Plated Convex Frame Mourning Style Woman Portrait Photo:
$99.00
The photograph inside is an original cabinet card cdv portrait of a young woman with a trendy fringe bang hairstyle popular in the late Victorian era. Photo has some wear, please view images.Inside the frame indicates that it is 24k gold plated, but oxidation and wear have aged the frame significantly, offering a neat aged patina look. Please view images.Features a monogrammed "A" inital attached via a similar mechanism to an earring clasp- likely added to the frame by the previous owner. Typical of a traditional memorial Victorian mourning frame.Heavy wear to plating of frame, but structurally the piece is in tact and freestanding. Missing one pin closure on the back, but 3 others hold it in place just fine.A beautiful piece for collectors of Victorian history and memento mori style mourning remembrance tokens.
