Beautiful antique Bohemian garnet brooch featuring an ornate floral and foliate spray design with graceful scrolling elements. The piece is densely set with deep wine-red garnets in a variety of shapes, including pear-shaped and round faceted stones, creating a rich Victorian appearance.
The reverse features open-backed stone settings and an elongated pin with older-style hinge/catch construction, characteristics associated with antique European garnet jewelry. The asymmetrical design and projecting single-garnet stem add wonderful character and make this a particularly attractive example.
