Antique Victorian Era Reed & Barton #1929 5 piece Silverplate Tea Set, c.1860s For Sale

For your consideration is an antique Victorian 5 piece silver plated coffee and tea set by Reed & Barton in pattern #1929. Dating to the mid-1860s, this is an elegant and highly decorated set with each piece featuring pearl beading at the stepped base and opening, finely detailed etching on the urn shaped body that is surrounded with repousse acanthus leaves where the body meets the base, and the covers are topped with an impressive spire finial. There are no monograms on the set, though there is an open cartouche to display your initials if you want to personalize. In overall good condition, there are a few random dings and shallow dents that aren’t casually noticed or distracting, particularly when the set is at high polish. The silver plating is slightly worn along the ridges on the handles as well as a small area on the base of the coffee urn, but is otherwise intact and polishes to a brilliant luster. The set is in beautiful antique condition otherwise showing wear commensurate to age and a history of honest use across 165 years. Please regard the photos as they form a descriptive part of the listing.
