Antique Victorian Mourning Bodice / Blouse – Late 19th Century (c. 1885–1900)
Authentic late Victorian black silk mourning bodice featuring rich tone-on-tone floral embroidery and a sheer lace/net high collar yoke. A beautifully constructed example of 19th-century tailoring with a structured silhouette.
The interior retains original waist boning and stamped dress shields from the Canfield Dress Shield Company, a period manufacturer of garment linings and protective underarm shields. These original components help confirm the late 1800s date.
A wonderful piece for collectors, display, study, or historic costume use.
