Crafted from rich, golden-brown quartersawn English oak staves showcasing gorgeous natural medullary ray grain patterns.
The bowl features its original electroplated nickel silver (E.P.N.S.) polished rim collar and twin flanking trophy-style handles. Features a classic, vacant shield cartouche on the front which remains entirely unengraved—perfect if you wish to personalize it with your own initials or a gifting date.
Crucially, this piece includes its original, completely undamaged white ironstone ceramic liner stamped \"Made in England\" on the base. Most of these liners were broken over the last century, making a complete, undamaged set like this highly collectible.Condition:
Excellent antique condition. The oak staves are tight with no wood separation gaps or cracks. The ceramic liner is flawless with no chips, cracks, or heavy crazing. The silver plating shows light, authentic aged patina and wear consistent with age, with a tiny touch of verdigris near the screws that can easily be polished if desired. The underside of the turned oak base retains its original, historic black textured paper/fabric lining layer. This protective lining was traditionally applied during the Late Victorian and Edwardian eras to safeguard polished surfaces from scratches.
