Antique Victorian Staffordshire Lady Fruit Seller Figurine 8\" For Sale

Authentic-style Victorian Staffordshire pottery figure depicting a standing female fruit seller or market vendor holding a yellow basket filled with colorful fruit and flowers.

The lady wears a long white dress with molded folds, hand-painted floral sprigs, brown trim, a green sash, striped lower garments, and red shoes. Her auburn hair, rosy cheeks, fruit-filled basket, and small applied flowers on the base provide attractive hand-painted detail.

The figure is hollow-formed from glazed earthenware and stands on a rounded pedestal base. The reverse is minimally decorated, consistent with the traditional Staffordshire flatback style. The underside is unmarked and has a central kiln vent hole.

Based on the form, decoration, construction, and subject, the figure is attributed to Victorian Staffordshire production in England, approximately 1850–1880. Female fruit and flower sellers were popular subjects in mid-19th-century Staffordshire pottery.
