Antique Vtg C 1940s Mens M1939 US Army Brown Leather Service Shoes Size 10 Boots For Sale

This offering is for an antique or vintage pair of men\'s WWII era leather service shoes or boots. Based on examples I have found on line I believe these are model M1939 US Army or Air Force Service Shoes. The shoes feature a 4 sets of eyelets and three sets of hooks. The leather bodies have a dark russet brown polish and the condition is as seen in our photo\'s. The interior sole length is app. 10.75\" maximum which would make them about a size 10 to 10.5 The overall exterior length from tip of toe to end of heel of app. 11.75\". The shoes have a maximum width across the ball of the foot of app. 3.75\". One of the shoes has the original cloth makers tag on the back side of the tongue showing the were made by Montgomery Wards and called Comfort Curves. The shoes have nice leather uppers with only minor typical wear. The original owner cut two small slits on each tongue to facilitate running laces through them. I believe this was done to keep the tongue up in proper position during periods of a lot of walking. Both shoes need new insoles and new soles as seen in our photo\'s if you are going to wear them. The shoes show beautifully on display with a collection as they are.
