Antique pair of Japanese Geisha Daimyo Figural Resin Statues Oriental 20in Tall For Sale

This impressive pair of Antique Japanese-inspired Geisha and Daimyo figural statues captures the elegance, symbolism, and artistry associated with traditional East Asian decorative sculpture. Standing approximately 20 inches tall, the matching figures depict a graceful noblewoman and distinguished gentleman dressed in elaborate traditional attire, each richly adorned with symbolic motifs and intricate decorative details.

The female figure is portrayed holding a folding fan and ornate lantern, embodying refinement and grace, while the male figure stands with a staff and flowing robes, representing wisdom, status, and authority. Both figures are surrounded by intricately sculpted dragons that wind gracefully around their garments and accessories, adding movement, symbolism, and visual drama to the compositions. In Asian tradition, dragons symbolize power, protection, prosperity, and good fortune.

Executed in warm amber, gold, green, black, and blue tones, the statues display exceptional hand-finished detailing throughout. The elaborate garments, expressive facial features, flowing drapery, and dragon ornamentation demonstrate remarkable craftsmanship and decorative appeal. Each figure stands upon an ornate pierced base featuring scrolling motifs that further enhance their architectural presence.

Originally discovered in Southern France and attributed to Japanese-inspired decorative arts, these substantial sculptures serve as striking statement pieces suitable for display in libraries, studies, entryways, living rooms, offices, or collections of Asian decorative objects.
